In Whipped, we meet Cass, who comes to Purgatory to get what she needs and leaves. No one knows exactly what happened in her past, but it's clear to some - Walker especially - that there's a deep hurt there that he wants to soothe. Recovering from a bad relationship, Walker knows as soon as he spots Cass' session with Dex that he has to have her. Of the three books in the series so far, this one suffers a bit when written as such a short story. It would have been better, IMHO, if we'd had a bit more history and time to get to know the characters. Some of the story felt a bit rushed and abrupt, but, in the end, it was nice watching these two find someone who could give them what they long for in a partner.
