I really enjoy this series. I love the big battle between good and evil, which is becoming tense as a "team" gets closer to a win. In this one, however, Devina had a much smaller part (felt more like a cameo) and I greatly missed her wickedness. I was surprised by Ward's ability to turn a former evil-doer, Mathias, into the hero and make it believable. I'll be continuing on with the series, anxious to see the battle play out, but I'm hoping for more oomph in the remaining books.
