The Last Girl

The Last Girl - Kitty Thomas I thought Kitty's Tender Mercies was an intense, powerful story, so when The Last Girl was recommended to me I decided to check it out. The taboo theme of slavery is present in both books, however in The Last Girl there's a paranormal edge. Juliette finds herself at the hands of a very old vampire, Christian. He's "had" and "lost" 100 girls during his lifetime. Will Juliette be The Last Girl? While the struggles of both characters were felt throughout the story, I just wasn't drawn to them. The ending was somewhat predictable, but no less sad. I wasn't quite sure how to rate it, but decided on 3★ because of Kitty's ability to tell such intense, dark erotica.
