Strange Angels

Strange Angels - St. Crow, Lili Strange Angels introduces us to Dru Anderson, a sixteen year old who moves around often with her dad who "went way-out wack after {her} mom died and now he travels around hunting things that go bump in the night, killing things you only find in fairy tales and ghost stories." She helps out when he lets her, which isn't as often as she'd like. She "can tell you where anything inhuman in {any} town is likely to hang out." She finds it hard to get involved in any school because they move around so much and in her mind, what's the point? They will be gone soon anyway. And no one can understand the Real World she sees and hunts with her dad. But, on this morning, her dad pushes her off to school before leaving on another hunt. He won't allow her to tag along this time, being secretive about what he's hunting. When her dad doesn't come home from his hunt, she knows something must have gone wrong. No matter what he's hunting, he always comes home or calls.Dru's dad has taught her how to be self-sufficient and trained her as a survivalist. She has always been a solitary person, never counting on anyone but her dad. Until now. While she's trying to find out what happened to her father, she meets a boy she's spotted at school and the unlikely pair come to trust and depend on each other. The story had a "Supernatural" (TV show) feel to it at times. There is a big mix of spooky supes to keep it interesting, you and Dru never know what will happen next. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to more of Dru's adventures and discoveries in book 2, Betrayals.
