Allegra Fairweather is a paranormal investigator with a reputation for solving paranormal mysteries. She's off to the shores of Loch Furness to investigate a bleeding rose. The rose is known to forecast death and destruction. While there, she meets many people in the village who all seem to have something paranormal of their own to share with Allegra. On top of all that, she has a guardian angel, who she calls Casper. She's in love with Casper, but knows that he cannot have any type of sexual relationship with his charges. He's trying to earn his passage into Heaven after raping and pillaging during his life. This story wasn't bad, but it was difficult getting past the unnecessary repetition throughout. The word "paranormal" must have been used 50+ times alone. For a first novel attempt, it wasn't terrible, but doesn't have me anxiously looking for another book by this author.Thank you to NetGalley and Carina Press for the opportunity to read this book free-of-charge.
